Out of Ideas
| October 9th, 2006I do not know what to write today. I am out of ideas .. thoughts to express. And above all, words are something I always fell short of.
But the ritual must be fulfilled. Its weekend and it calls for a Blog. So I am back for it.
Out of my surprise I found my BE Final Sem. Project Report today. And I could not stop laughing. I had developed a Web Service .. a SOAP based Web Service as my final sem. Project. LMAO!! What a waste. Hundreds of lines of code I developed in 2 weeks, weeks of sleepless nights and endless head scratching. The day I took up that project in hand and started coding for it, I knew I would never want coding as my profession. I do not have that caliber. I do not have that temperament.
And now I am in a carrier wherein I make the lives of all those developers miserable. I am a Software Quality Engineer.
Back to this week. No action on the work front. Joined Adobe as planned. But things are a little slow there. The action is yet to begin. But hope to get in deep in the project by coming week. Lets us see how things turn out.
Oh and yes! How can I forget, today was Race Day. Formula 1 2006 Japanese Grand Prix, Suzuka. With Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso tied on 116 championship points each and only two races left this season, all my stakes were on Shumi. He was 2nd in pole after Saturday’s qualifying session with Felipe Massa on pole 1 and Alonso way back on pole 5. Schumacher easily overtook Massa in lap 3 to lead the race till lap 37. It seemed a comfortable Shumi win. Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony (Morpheus .. The Matrix – 1999). A Ferrari engine blow out and Shumi had to retire. And Alonso comfortably finished with Pos 1. And with this retirement that chances of Shumi becoming the World Champ 2006 are virtually zero.

Well .. besides this the week was a usual. Did all regular stuff, gaming, orkutting, Chatting. All these activities went on till 0430 Hrs last nite.
What Else? Yeah did some useless research on the net, on the usage of Perl for Selenium Remote Control. Selenium is an OpenSource web test framework. Very ductile. And supports languages like Java, Perl, C#.Net, Python and Ruby for Test Case creation. Selenium RC (Remote Control) is on of the flavors of this framework. I’ll have a separate Blog entry soon on this Selenium Framework and why I like it over other available frameworks like Canoo WebTest. Though this is also one of the projects that I have abandoned long ago due to lack of time to do R&D. And it is still in the pile of my things to do.
Yes, was suffering from flu. Friday nite and Saturday went in body aches and things. I hate it, all fun lost. Had plans to go out on Saturday (
